Tallgrass Updates for Torrington Division Only

The SourceGas selection period starts on April 8th, 2016 and ends April 28th 2016. This year there are quite a few changes for SourceGas customers, and Wyoming Community Gas wants you to be prepared to make the best choice for your needs.

In October 2015, Tallgrass Interstate Gas Transmission, LLC (Tallgrass) filed an application with the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) to increase its rates to transport natural gas. Tallgrass pipeline facilities are required to deliver natural gas to certain end-use customers of SourceGas Distribution, LLC. This is the first time in 17 years that Tallgrass has filed for such increase, and is being requested in order to update transportation and storage rates. The rates are proposed at approximately 80% higher than current Tallgrass rates. The rate case is scheduled to be settled after the selection period. This will only affect the Torrington Division in Wyoming.

Wyoming Community Gas is committed to passing through only the actual, approved rates instead of estimating (and perhaps overestimating) them. As such, our Fixed plus and Index plus pricing options offer a price that will be adjusted once we know what the rate increases will be. We do have other pricing options available that assume the rate case increase, but these prices may be higher than you would actually have to pay if you choose the Tallgrass fixed or Tallgrass Index pricing options. These prices would not change when the Tallgrass rate is settled.

Our friendly call center representatives are available for any questions and will be happy to help you, please call 1.877.318.4051.

Keep in mind when talking to other suppliers to inquire-

  • Are you buying a fixed or index rate that will not change per therm, or will the price be adjusted when the Tallgrass rate case settles?
  • Does the pass through plus rate have current transport included in the price?
  • Will you receive a letter stating what I bought and how the Tallgrass rate case being settled affects you as the consumer?
  • What kind of notifications will you receive from the supplier when the change occurs?
